Even though we love our plants, they often encounter problems that are tricky to identify and even harder to resolve. Recognizing these issues and finding suitable solutions can be quite challenging.

​Plantlife provides an intelligent scanning mechanism designed to diagnose a plant’s problems instantly, offering precise solutions right when they’re needed.

I performed a thorough examination of competing plant scanning apps to grasp the current landscape of available market solutions. Furthermore, I conducted extensive research into apps facilitating plant purchases.

PlantMe

An application offering plant care guidance, including disease identification and a personalized gardening calendar.

Plant parent

This application offers comprehensive plant care manuals, aiding in the identification of toxic plants and providing timely watering reminders.

Plantum

An app serving as a plant care companion, enabling users to pinpoint plant diseases and receive timely care reminders.

  •  The majority of apps featured a rapid scanning procedure.
  •  Simplicity and clarity defined the purchase process across most apps.
  •  Visual aids, including images and illustrations, were prevalent throughout these applications.
  • Several apps offered solutions addressing plant-related issues.

In order to identify potential target users, I engaged in casual interviews with individuals between the ages of 18 and 60 who cultivate at least one plant.

🤷🏼‍♂️ Pain points

Users often attempted to address their plant’s problems, but the remedies applied were often ineffective or incorrect.A majority of users expressed relying on the internet to identify their plant’s issues and solutions, a process they found exhausting until finding an appropriate treatment.
Many interviewees mentioned a common scenario: purchasing a plant without subsequent guidance on its proper care and growth.

Despite her attempts to identify the issue and seek guidance, she couldn’t find relevant information.
Turning to Plantlife’s intelligent scanning system proved fruitful. Veronika obtained an accurate diagnosis and received tailored solutions to address her plant’s problem. This empowered her to effectively treat and nurture the plant back to health.
